The series has brought back die-hard Bleach fans and has managed to rise to the top of the anime world in a matter of few episodes. However, after a few episodes, it appears that the Bleach Animators are having difficulty dealing with the threats and hate comments they are receiving from fans. On Twitter, Bleach animators working on the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War anime are receiving death threats for being dishonest about the source material.
As a result, they turned to X (previously Twitter) to express their concerns, mentioning how the series’ key animators may become upset with the project and depart, resulting in a drop in animation quality. Pertaining to this, now the Bleach fans have come together to support these animators and help them break out of the hate that they are getting on the Internet.
Bleach Fans Come Out in Support of the Animators
The Bleach fans have reacted quickly to these threats, creating two hashtags on X to convey their gratitude for the staff’s unwavering effort in animating the Thousand Year Blood War anime. Many fans have started the hashtag #Thank_you_to_all_bleach_staff and #ThankYouBLEACH_Staff in support of the editors and staff of the series to combat the toxic extreme fans that are shaming the creators.
A user with the tag @TheEliteace tweeted a cosplay image with the caption “Thank you for all the hard work and dedication that you give to all of us Bleach fans! You will forever have our ongoing support from Bleach fans all around the world! Please ignore the negativity from the ungrateful disrespectful people!”
There have been many users who came forward in support of the animators and targeted the haters aggressively.
However, this is not the first instance when animators and staff of a series have been targeted by extreme fans. One of the biggest franchises in the world, Star Wars has also been the victim of this situation.
Star Wars Received Similar Threats from Extreme Fans
A minority segment of Star Wars fans continues to engage in disruptive behavior. Moses Ingram, who played Reva, an Inquisitor working for Darth Vader who is on the hunt for Obi-Wan, took to social media to express some of the racist remarks she has received and the impact they have had on her.
Fans of Star Wars are known to strike out at performers who play contentious characters. One great example is how fans handled Ahmed Best when he portrayed Jar-Jar Binks.
