The amount of love and fame that the newly released Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has got is pure majestic. And quite a lot of it is thanks to the Black Panther actor Daniel Kaluuya, who has given the voice for Spider-Punk aka Hobie Brown, a new character in the Spider-Verse series.
However, in the new planned sequel of the Spider-Verse series, the Oscar-winning actor has expressed his wish to cast Snoop Dogg and Bill Murray in it too, saying how they have ‘excellent’ voices that could blast up the sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ views.

Daniel Kaluuya has been a brilliant actor, renowned for his role in Black Panther as W’Kabi. However, in his recent role, Kaluuya has been gaining even more fame for his role as the Spider-Punk in the Across the Spider-Verse movie.
When asked about his role in the movie, the Black Panther actor said in an interview with GamesRadar,
“They sat me down and were like, ‘we want you, so we want you to bring you to it.’ They asked me ‘what would you say here, what is the real word that would be used here,’ giving me free rein and allowing me to use my background in improv. We were exploring the voice as there hasn’t been a narrative version of Spider-Punk before in film or television. So, it was a discovery, and we found something that was a melting pot of all that London is but also the attitude that someone who was a punk or from Camden would have, without being watered down or becoming too commercial.”
Kaluuya explained how the Spider-Punk role was new to him and how he had to do research about the character to figure out more about him. In the same interview, Kaluuya mentioned how he searched Spotify for any playlists for Spider-Punk created by fans and listened to those songs, vibing out with them and getting their energy.
And his hard work certainly didn’t fail him, judging how his fans are calling Spider-Punk the real hero of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Bill Murray and Snoop Dogg in the Spider-Verse sequel: Yay or Nay?
When talking about the second part of the recently released Spider-Verse movie, Daniel Kaluuya quickly listed some of his favorite celebrities to give their voice for the sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse characters, explaining how he’d be a ‘happy man’ to work with Snoop Dogg and the Ant-Man 3 actor, Bill Murray.
“Snoop Dogg! Spider-Dogg – D, O, double G! He would shut the shit down. He’s got the best voice in modern society, let’s keep it real. Or, Bill Murray — I don’t know how you get him in it but my guy Bill has got to be involved as well. If I could work with Bill Murray in any shape or form, I’d be a happy man.”
Judging how the new movie will have even more ‘Spider-People’, other actors chosen for the movie include Jack Quaid, Andy Samberg, and Yuri Lowenthal. And even though it still isn’t final if Bill Murray and Snoop Dogg will make it to the sequel, let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best!
While the sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to release in March 2024, you can catch the newly released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in the cinemas now.
