Director Ryan Coogler decided to pass the mantle to another hero worthy of recognition instead of recasting the role. Many have been wondering how the movie will address T’Challa’s passing, and it even became the talk of the town the minute Marvel announced they will push through with the sequel without Chadwick Boseman. But, with the optimistic reactions from critics, it seems that Coogler and the entire cast did the right thing and gave Boseman the tribute he deserves.
Honoring Chadwick Boseman’s Legacy
The early reactions are a surefire way to entice fans to go and watch the film when it arrives in November. After all, there are only a few weeks left and it will give fans the time to come up with their own theories. It is understandable why Marvel Studios chose a new direction for the film, given the first movie’s groundbreaking effect on the superhero movie industry.
Coogler once said in his interview with ET Online that this is what Boseman would have wanted. “As I felt more and thought more and thought more about Chadwick and how he lived his life, it made all the sense in the world to keep going. I know that he wouldn’t want us to stop.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters worldwide this November 11, 2022.
