Could Benedict Cumberbatch Be A Part Of The New Star Wars Movie?

You couldn’t have grown up a Star Wars fan without encountering Thrawn in Heir to the Empire. It was a dark time when there weren’t any more movies, and it blew our minds that there could be more.

Although Lars Mikkelsen has been cast as the villain in the upcoming Ahsoka series, there is still hope that Benedict Cumberbatch could make his live-action debut as Thrawn. The antagonist very quickly became a fan favorite, making everyone wish that he would appear on screen more often than not.

What Is The Story Of The Heir to the Empire?

The story of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire sees a lot of what Thrawn is as a bigger villain. Dave Filoni confirmed that Ahsoka is not where Thrawn’s story concludes. He has a much bigger role to play in the world of Jedis and Empires. The book itself, of the same name, happens to be only the first part of an entire trilogy focusing on Grand Admiral Thrawn.

It is to be noted that the story in itself is not an official continuity to the original trilogy. Furthermore, George Lucas did not even have a hand in the making of the book trilogy. The first book marks a war between Thrawn and Han Solo alongside Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. However, this story might just focus outside, with the addition of Rey Skywalker and her involvement in the upcoming movie.
