Ben Affleck and Kevin Smith have been buddies for a long time and have worked on a handful of projects together as well. Some of the projects they have worked on are Chasing Amy, Jersey girl, and Dogma.
Since they both, at some point, have shared a professional as well as a private relationship, it is very striking to see that the pair have not been seen together for a while now, whether that be as colleagues or as friends.
Although the media have remained clueless as to why there was this untimely drift between Ben Affleck and his buddy Kevin Smith, the latter has recently made some revelations about the mysterious situation.
Kevin Smith Says Issues From His Side Make It Impossible For Him And Ben Affleck To Get Back Together
Kevin Smith has responded to some of the queries about his relationship with Ben Affleck on Twitter, bringing some part of the story to light.
“If I had to guess? It’s because one of us has a big mouth and told too many candid stories that sometimes weren’t his to tell, and the other one is Ben.” Responded Kevin Smith when a fan wondered exactly why would the pair stop hanging out.
Apart from this, Kevin Smith then also went on to list a few reasons which he thought may be responsible as to why he cannot work with Ben Affleck when it was suggested that he should direct the Batman Movie the latter was supposed to star in.

According to Kevin Smith, another reason for the fallout was that not only did he and Ben Affleck stop checking in on each other (hinting that this was possible because Ben Affleck is more famous and an A-List star and would not really have time for the former due to his stardom) but also because Ben Affleck’s now ex-wife, Jennifer Garner wasn’t really fond of him either.
“He’s got a wife [Jennifer Garner] that don’t care for me at all,” Kevin Smith shared with Yahoo in an interview. “And plus, honestly, he probably doesn’t care for me at all anymore. He’s a triple-A-list movie star and s*** like that. If he’s Jimmy Carter, I’m Billy Carter, to put it in ’70s terms.”
Kevin Smith recounted the incident where Jennifer Garner had threatened to kick his ass when he was “talking smack” and “making fun of Ben Affleck”.
“You know if you don’t stop talking about him, I’ll kick your a*s.” Jennifer Garner had sternly stated in a threatening tone.
Conclusively, maybe Kevin Smith was right about Jennifer Garner lacking a sense of humor (or “had a girly sense of humor”) or the former had actually crossed a line while joking around (which isn’t uncommon, to be honest) we’ll probably never know but Kevin Smith’s side of the story seems innocent enough.
