DC’s Justice League is a film that went through its share of controversies. The much-anticipated movie in the DCU which brought together the iconic DC superheroes for the first time was director Zack Snyder’s brainchild. Unfortunately, owing to a personal tragedy, Snyder had to step down from the helm halfway through the film and handed over the reins to Joss Whedon. Justice League opened to mixed reviews with audiences claiming that Zack Snyder’s magnum opus was undone by Joss Whedon with the latter making merciless cuts from Snyder’s original vision.
Furthermore, the rumor mills began churning when the cast including Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck talked about their difficult working experience with Joss Whedon. But Zack Snyder came back with a bang with his version of the storyline in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, a 4-hour marathon that encompassed all of the director’s original inspirations behind the characters and the DC Universe. This film was highly lauded by fans and actors, including Ben Affleck.
Ben Affleck heaps of praise on Zack Snyder
Hollywood star Ben Affleck who played Batman in Justice League spoke candidly about his experience in both versions of the film. After the debacle of the first film directed by Joss Whedon, the Argo star confessed that he wanted to have nothing to do with the movie or the franchise, after a tumultuous relationship with the film’s director. Stating that the experience also affected his personal life, the actor said,
“That was the worst experience I’ve ever seen in a business that is full of some shitty experiences. It broke my heart. “I started to drink too much. I was back at the hotel in London, it was either that or jump out the window. And I just thought, ‘This isn’t the life I want.”
In this state of mind, the actor was wary when Zack Snyder approached him to recreate his version of the film. But the Gone Girl star ultimately accepted the offer and went on to lavish praise on the Batman vs Superman director for his undying efforts to resurrect his brainchild. Affleck also added that Zack Snyder’s Justice League was the highest-rated film of his career and thanked the director for having urged him to get on board.

Ben Affleck’s open support of Zack Snyder has received heartwarming praise from fans of the actor and the director. Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which was a darker and edgier take on the original film, was a huge hit among fandoms with viewers appreciating Snyder’s dedication to making a project that he had envisioned from the start. They also took to social media to laud Ben Affleck for graciously and openly supporting Zack Snyder’s vision for the franchise and the movie.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck has exuded confidence about his role as Batman in the upcoming summer blockbuster, The Flash, saying that his Batman will be more than ready to stand up against Michael Keaton.
