However, her breakthrough role came in 2013 with The Wolf of Wall Street, where she played the role of Naomi Lapaglia, for which she received critical acclaim. The film was also in the headlines for her bold and intimate scenes with Leonardo DiCaprio. The Australian actress garnered attention for her decision to perform a stripping scene. However, she previously defended it as a crucial aspect of her character.

Margot Robbie Explains Her Bold Scenes In The Film

It seems that Margot Robbie flourishes under pressure, as evidenced by her challenging role in The Wolf of Wall Street, which was particularly daunting for a young actress at the beginning of her career. She confessed that the nude scenes in the film made her hesitate before accepting the part. However, her manager advised her that if there was ever an appropriate time for nudity in a film, it would be under the direction of Martin Scorsese.

Ultimately, Margot Robbie concluded that the opportunity to star in The Wolf of Wall Street was too great to turn down. While it’s a common refrain, the intimate scenes in the film, like drug use and violence, appear to have artistic merit because of the glamorous way in which they are depicted.

“I think nudity for the sake of nudity is shameful,” she said. “If they’ve put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that’s disgusting. And you can always tell… But I also think it’s disgusting when someone gets naked in real life; in the film, they conveniently leave their bra on or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much.”
