James Cameron’s careful attention to detail and ability to make a three-hour runtime fly. Titanic isn’t just a historical romance or a survival story; it consists of sharp social commentary on class and serves as a touching coming-of-age movie.

Everything was so perfect in Titanic, but the most loved factor is the storyline revolves around Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater. And Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet got lucky to play these iconic roles. Although the main leads were adored by many, there was a time when Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were almost considered for the roles before DiCaprio and Winslet snatched them up.

James Cameron’s 1997 movie centers on Jack and Rose, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. They’re passengers on the Titanic, hailing from different social backgrounds due to class differences. Despite this, they develop a romantic connection which shows how great of a story narrative is.

While various other Titanic passengers had their personal struggles, the love tale of Dawson and Dewitt is entirely fictional. Cameron used their romance to infuse humanity into the disaster, which added a personal touch to the historical incident. At the time when this classic was about to make progress, there were some other big-name actors considered for the lead parts – with the likes of Jared Leto, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Matthew McConaughey all at one point having the conversation, before Winslet and DiCaprio signed on to the film.

Among these actors, one potential pair was Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. In addition, reports suggested that Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were also in discussions for these parts. Eventually, the roles were given to those who deserved them.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were adored by their fans during their five-year marriage. They would have undoubtedly made a great Titanic, but DiCaprio and Winslet took Hollywood by storm with their unquestionable chemistry in the movie.

Although the role didn’t come easily to Kate Winslet, rather it was her determination that let her secure the part of Rose DeWitt Bukater. As reported by Rolling Stones, Winslet was deeply affected and cried buckets after reading the script. Finally, she convinced James Cameron by calling him on his car phone and giving him a rose.
