The world has seen more than three versions of Batman in the last three decades. From Michael Keaton and George Clooney to Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson, each version manages to bring a unique spin to the character which makes it different from the rest of them. However, none have managed to coexist. Even with The Flash bringing a few versions together, none have overlapped.
That was until The Batman introduced Robert Pattinson as Batman much before it was confirmed that Ben Affleck would not be returning to the role. The movie had an uproar amongst fans and they were all happy to receive a film as captivating as it was. The DC Universe has been giving moderate to underwhelming movies for quite a while now and Pattinson’s film had been a breather for them. However, not everyone thought so.
Was Batman v Superman A Better Representation Of The Character?
Batman v Superman had Ben Affleck‘s Bruce Wayne absolutely turn the world. Although the movie did not get as much praise as they would have liked. Another movie that was released that gave a new version of the hero was Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman. Both movies have different focuses when it came to the character. The former focused on the character having one of the lowest points in his life. He lost his Robin and he was openly killing people. Something that was rather uncharacteristic of Bruce Wayne.
The latter saw him as a detective and primarily focused on him solving crimes with his mind and wit. The movie was praised a lot for its unique representation of the character. At the same time, it did not get as much praise because of fewer scenes as the hero. However, the analytical aspect of the movie was unique in its own manner.
Fans Express Their Bias Towards Ben Affleck’s Batman
Fans have been split between liking Batman v Superman over The Batman. Both movies had their ups and downs. However, the latter ended up earning a lot more than the former. They were pointing out how the movie was rather overhyped and people enjoyed seeing a more unique version of Batman who had lost it all and did not believe in redemption amongst villains.
On the other hand, many fans started expressing how unhappy they had been about an uncharacteristic representation of Batman with Ben Affleck. One of his biggest traits is that he does not kill anyone despite their crime. That was taken from him.
