The Flash‘s Twitter account might want to up its game a notch…right about now.
A brand-new look at Ben Affleck’s Batman in the forthcoming DCU film just dropped and people have made an utter mockery out of the photos. In his defense though, Affleck probably had no idea about it because nobody in their right mind would consider those photos to be worthy of the film’s marketing campaign. On the brighter side, however, people seem to be loving Sasha Calle’s intense Supergirl snapshot.
Fans Ridicule Ben Affleck’s Batman in The Flash (2023)
Andy Muschietti’s The Flash is exactly two months away from hitting the cinemas, so it’s about to get crazy at DC Studios with all the vigorous promotion they’ll be embarking on. As of right now, they’re settling with glimpses from the film to keep the audience on edge and make them crave more details about the movie. So far, however, it looks like that plan is backfiring because all these ‘sneak peeks’ seem to be doing is getting a rumble of laughter from fans.
The Flash‘s official Twitter account recently shared new picture of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight in the upcoming film along with an image of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. And it’s safe to say that all eyes are on Batfleck. Translation: everyone is so busy poking fun at Affleck’s Batman that only a handful seem to be acknowledging the other two.
From “ugly” and “toon” to outright “disgusting,” people are throwing all kinds of labels at the Dawn of Justice star’s superhero. That certainly can’t be good for The Flash‘s reputation, but hey, bad publicity is also publicity, so this might even end up working out in their favor.
Ben Affleck Spilled A Major Spoiler for The Flash
During his appearance on the Smartless podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, Affleck, 50, revealed a seemingly valuable detail that doubled as a massive spoiler for the Ezra Miller-led DCU film.
Talking about his Caped Crusader in The Flash, the award-winning actor admitted that he finally felt like he’d done justice to the character despite having depicted the superhero four times on-screen. But while elucidating upon the same, Affleck accidentally slipped up and gave out a major spoiler about Wonder Woman’s cameo.
“It was a scene where I get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys,” Affleck said. “She saves me with the lasso of truth. And so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and his work and I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I got it.'”
He might as well have announced Gal Gadot’s feature in The Flash with that tidbit.
The Flash opens up in theatres on June 16, 2023.
