Ryan Gosling Could Have Played A Marvel Superhero
Marvel has a huge franchise starring multiple well-known actors. Due to the plethora of characters in the Marvel-verse, there have been many new editions to the cinematic universe in recent years. When the makers were first casting for the role of Doctor Strange, their first thought was to cast Benedict Cumberbatch. However, due to the many scheduling conflicts and Cumberbatch already involved with projects like Sherlock Holmes and Hamlet, he had to let go of the role despite being interested.
On the other hand, the makers were a fit and confused regarding which actor might be the best to play the iconic Marvel character. In those times Ryan Gosling along with a few other notable actors were considered for the role. However, after Joaquin Phoenix‘s near deal with Marvel, the studio went back to the Hobbit star.
