Margot Robbie is currently in the headlines for her upcoming film, Barbie. The actress recently became the subject of a rumor when it was declared by an industry insider that she had rejected an offer from MCU.
It has been a while since it was reported that Marvel is looking for the perfect cast for the reboot of The Fantastic Four. However, any conclusion about the casting members seems to be a far cry for the makers.
Among the many fluctuating names of actors who would be cast as the Fantastic Four, Robbie’s name was one among many, but now the actress has reportedly turned down the chance to be in a Marvel movie. Before this, Robbie appeared in the DC film Suicide Squad, but recently, DC co-CEO, James Gunn shared that the sequel to the film isn’t planned yet. So turning down an offer from MCU is perhaps not a very wise choice.
Margot Robbie turned down the offer to be a part of the MCU
Marvel is currently facing a tough time, and all it needs is an engaging plotline and a strong star cast to revive it. Previously, it was suggested that Margot Robbie might join the Marvel franchise in the forthcoming Fantastic Four reboot. According to an MCU insider, it was reported that Robbie was offered the role of Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, in the film.
Apart from Robbie, there were a few other names of actresses who were considered for the role of Storm, including Allison Williams, Jodie Comer, and Mila Kunis. However, it was never confirmed that Robbie had accepted the offer.
Now, the realm of rumors has taken a swing, and it has been reported that Robbie has declined the offer from MCU. According to industry insider KC Walsh, Robbie won’t be a part of the F4 cast. The reason for her rejection is still ambiguous; however, Walsh stated in their tweet that the cast of the film is “still in flux”, which means that Marvel isn’t certain about the final cast of the Fantastic Four.
Chris Evans starring film Fantastic Four, which was released in 2015, faced severe backlash from the audience. However, this time, with a reboot, filmmakers wanted to give it a second chance.

Along with the MCU, Margot Robbie missed out on DCU films as well
Though there has been no statement from Margot Robbie about rejecting Marvel’s offer, rumors say otherwise. Being cast in the Fantastic Four would have marked Robbie’s debut in the Marvel Universe. But according to the sources, she is no longer a part of it.
Previously, Robbie worked with the MCU’s rival, DC. The actress appeared in DC’s film series Suicide Squad as the renowned character Harley Quinn. After the failure of both parts at the box office, James Gunn said that there are no plans yet to bring the third installment of the film, so apparently there is a long wait for Robbie to return to the franchise.
Robbie is currently starring as the lead protagonist in the upcoming film Barbie, which is scheduled to release on July 21, 2023.
