Ashamed of your Baldur’s Gate 3 Sexploits? Don’t Worry, Your Friends don’t Need to Know

Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3, the Larian Studios Dungeons and Dragons title, that released on August 3, has made a lot of news in the last few months for its mature content. The highly popular game has been noticed for using Hollywood style intimacy coordinators for motion capture romance scenes and is now getting attention for a feature connected to the co-op mode. In Baldur’s Gate 3, gamers have the option of a single-player campaign, but there is also a cooperative multiplayer aspect to the title, where users can play with their friends.

While cooperative gameplay is an exciting element for Baldur’s Gate 3 players, some may not want their friends to see the romance scenes they have selected. If you are one of those people who would rather have this aspect of gameplay hidden, have no fear, Larian Studios thought ahead when dealing with this issue. In order to prevent other co-op players from seeing your romance moves follow these instructions: first go to the gameplay tab and click on the options menu, then under “Share Private Moments” and “User Options” you will see the following information:

“By default, certain scenes are private. This means in multiplayer, other players cannot witness your private moments. If you leave this option disabled, you can toggle each dialogue’s privacy setting. Enabling this option means that you will share everything: all scenes are public, and other players can listen in on your private moments and dreams.”

This is a significant feature for those who want to keep their more sensitive gameplay choices private, and potentially avoid an awkward gaming experience with a friend. You cannot only make intimate scenes private, but conversations are subject to a filter if this is another part of the game you would rather not share with others.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has certainly made a name for itself when it comes to mature content, however, Larian Studios put in the effort to combat uncomfortability. While the game is set up to allow gamers to make explicit decisions, the developer recognized it could be awkward during co-op gameplay. Blocking some of these scenes is certainly a part of the game that will be utilized by many players.

Larian studios not only had gamers in mind, but also insured the actors in Baldur’s Gate 3 were comfortable. When filming motion capture for the scenes, the video game studio took the Hollywood route and hired intimacy coordinators to help with the romance portions. This was a way to ensure the voice/acting talent could do their jobs without fear of someone crossing the line.
