Shar is the twin sister of the moon goddess, Selune but stands against everything her sister believes in. She is also known as the Lady of Loss, which is why worshipping her is considered controversial in the game. Shar also uses the dark version of magic which opposes the power of her sister. Like the Shadow Weave, opposes the Weave of Mystra, which is a reason she is not worshipped by wizards and other magic-users.

The Dead Three is made up of three deities, and they’re grouped to symbolize death. Bhaal, the Lord of Murder; Bane, the Lord of Tyranny; and Myrkul, the Lord of Bones together make the Dead Three. They play a crucial role in the Baldur’s Gate series.

What is the role of Withers in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Jergal is the predecessor to the Dead Three and the Lord of the End of Everything. Jergal gave up his position to become a seneschal and watch over the numbers of the dead. Withers is Jergal, who went against the Dead Three in Baldur’s Gate 3 due to the misuse of power and schemes.

Dank Crypt Withers is probably a Jergal Temple, indicated by the symbols of Jergal in the tomb. Withers can heal companions to total health and even bring them from the dead. However, in the process, he charges gold for his service. This is just to serve as a loophole since gods can’t interfere with the events of the mortal world.
