On the list of the star cast, alongside Depp and Steenburgen, the movie had other big names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Juliette Lewis, Darlene Cates, Mary Kate Schellhardt, and John C. Reilly.
Depp portrayed the character of Gilbert Grape, DiCaprio was seen as Arnie Grape, and Steenburgen played the role of Betty Carver. During an interview, the 70-year-old actress confessed that magic sparked between her and the 60-year-old actor on the set.

Today, DiCaprio, and the Blow actor are on the list of some of the best actors in Hollywood. In an interview, Depp confessed that he tortured DiCaprio during the filming of the 1993 movie. While talking about the Inception actor, Depp said,
“It was a hard time for me, that film, for some reason. I don’t know why. I tortured him. I really did. He was always talking about these video games, you know? I told you it was kind of a dark period… ‘No, I will not give you a drag of my cigarette while you hide from your mother again, Leo.”
Depp also mentioned that he respects the Shutter Island actor and he understands how talented he is. The Secret Window actor also said that DiCaprio worked really hard on the film and had spent a lot of time researching on it.
