The highly anticipated State of Play event has certainly left a good impression on viewers, showcasing games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The new trailer exhibits a ton of different options to fiddle around with in the open world.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is one of Ubisoft’s next big titles. Set in the Avatar universe created by filmmaker James Cameron, you’ll be able to play as a Na’vi, as you embark on a thrilling adventure across Pandora.
The game has certainly caught the public’s attention, as many are wondering if it will live up to the standard set by the movies. Rest assured, the new trailer is sure to have left a good impression.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Story Trailer Showcases A Surprising Amount of Cool Gameplay Features
The story trailer for this game was one of the first things that they showed at the State of Play event. It showed multiple ways in which you can interact with the breathtaking open world.
This includes your mounts, who in this case are Ikrans. Ikrans are dragon-like creatures native to Pandora, and as the trailer suggests, you’ll be able to ride them and fly across the map. And while on the ground, you can ride Direhorses, which are basically small-headed and long-necked horses.
We also got a better look at the game’s combat. The game is played from a first-person perspective, and we see our character wielding multiple different weapons, such as a bow and arrow, a machine gun, and a rocket launcher.
Combat looks swift, but it seems as though you’ll also be able to stealth through some enemy encampments.
Finishers in first-person games are always a pleasure to see in games, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is no different. We can see the main character throwing out an RDA soldier from his mech, and it looks exceptional.
It seems as though to activate these finishers, you’ll first have to load your enemies with bullets and deal enough stagger damage before you can break through their defenses.

What’s the Story of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?
The game will not follow the storyline of the two movies; rather, it will feature its own original story set in the same universe. You play as a Na’vi who was abducted as a child and raised by the RDA. Years later, you awaken on Pandora as a complete stranger to its culture and ideals.
As the game progresses, you learn what it truly means to be a Na’vi as you dive deeper and deeper into the species’ culture. You’ll tame wild animals, interact with other Na’vi, and do much more. When the RDA tries to take over Pandora, it’s your job to save your homeland from its invaders.
It certainly looks like quite a massive project, even by Ubisoft’s standards. Currently, the game is available for pre-order, and it is set to release on December 7, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows, and Amazon Luna.
