With very limited official details regarding Assassin’s Creed Red, fans have been speculating if the game will ever see the light of day. Assassin’s Creed is without a doubt Ubisoft’s most profitable and iconic franchise because of how varied its content has been. From starting off as a contained action-adventure game to becoming a huge RPG, the Assassin’s Creed games have been getting bigger with each release.

One thing that all Assassin’s Creed games have in common is that they all take place in various historical settings and are actually quite informative to some extent. Gamers have been asking for their desired historical era to be visited by the franchise, but the most requested setting is undeniably feudal Japan. It’s weird that it has taken this long for Ubisoft to listen and develop Assassin’s Creed Red, but at least it’s finally happening.

Just last year, Ubisoft confirmed that a number of Assassin’s Creed games were in the works, including the Japan-set Assassin’s Creed Red. Till now, the game only had a codename and an extremely short teaser trailer, which is why nothing concrete can be said about its release date, but we now know that it may be sooner than previously thought. This update came from an unexpected LinkedIn post by Arisa Lagunzad, a member of Ubisoft’s Business Development and Brand Partnership, which stated that the company was searching for potential partnerships for the game, which would be released next year in 2024.

More AC Titles Other Than Assassin’s Creed Red

This is the first time in a while that we have heard something substantial about Assassin’s Creed Red and its release window, but Ubisoft is known for pushing its games back, so for now, we’ll take this news with a grain of salt. The game is also purely a single-player experience, and there have been no hints of an Assassin’s Creed Codename Red multiplayer mode.

This is also the first time in 8 years, since 2015, that fans are getting two consecutive Assassin’s Creed titles, as Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming out in fall 2023. Moreover, there have been reports that Ubisoft is developing an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation yet.

Ubisoft has also announced other Assassin’s Creed games, such as Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. In fact, the Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade release date is also set for early 2024. There has been no news regarding the Assassin’s Creed Hexe release date.

Fans can only wait for more official updates about Assassin’s Creed Red, but so many announced Assassin’s Creed titles should keep us busy for a while. Are you looking forward to playing an AC game set in feudal Japan? Let us know in the comments!
