Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone gold and is ready to make its debut ahead of schedule
Assassin’s Creed Mirage previously had the launch scheduled for October 12, 2023, but now, with the early completion of the project, the game will be available for PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and PC on October 5th. Ubisoft Montreal, creators of the series, revealed the latest release date on their Twitter in a post that also confirmed that the game went gold.
The now-completed development of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was led by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio also behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Wrath of the Druids expansion. Touted as a nostalgic homage to the franchise’s original games, Mirage will feature gameplay focused on parkour, stealth, and assassinations enshrined in the franchise.

Marking a return to the action-adventure style of classic games and a departure from previous more RPG-oriented entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. And a brand new element, exclusive to Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a gameplay feature in the form of the pole vaulting skill that adds an extra layer of acrobatics for players to navigate the environment in even more dynamic and creative ways.
Although the franchise is surrounded by criticism of originality and repetitiveness among its titles, Ubisoft seems to want to change its behavior with some recent news such as the statement made in July by the game’s creative director, Stéphane Boudon, that Ubisoft does not plan to release any DLC for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and also a roadmap for the future of the franchise in September of last year.
This roadmap was revealed at an event in Paris where Ubisoft confirmed that its next Assassin’s Creed main game after Mirage would be “Red”, made by the developer and creative director of Odyssey in the style of Valhalla, but set in feudal Japan and which should be for after 2024 and “Hexe”, made by Ubisoft Montreal and Clint Hocking (Far Cry 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion) seems to have a horror bent and will provide “a different experience” from other releases.
Assassin’s Creed Invictus, an independent multiplayer game crafted by For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege teams, Jade, described as a free-to-play, AAA action-adventure RPG for mobile platforms set in Ancient China and a mobile game in mysterious collaboration with Netflix, possibly linked to the upcoming live-action series, were the last projects announced for the future of the franchise.
So, the Assassin’s Creed series doesn’t seem to want a break, much less an end, soon and will continue its periodic releases over the years. So, if you’re an eager fan, know that you’ll be able to control the assassin Basim through the streets of Baghdad sooner than expected and hope that Ubisoft has learned from its mistakes and has indeed taken the game going gold without problems.
