Ezra Miller’s The Flash is getting a lot of buzz ahead of its premiere, and most of these reactions affect the growing hype around the franchise. Recently, the famed horror author Stephen King expressed his opinion on social media after attending the early preview of the movie.
Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash had an advanced screening at CinemaCon 2023, where fans and critics who attended the event gave favorable reviews. Now, the public is more eager to witness DC’s upcoming comic book adaptation on the big screen.
Horror Legend Stephen King Praises Ezra Miller’s The Flash
In a recent tweet from Stephen King, the author noted that he usually does not like watching superhero movies, but The Flash was an exception:
“I got an advance screening of THE FLASH today. As a rule, I don’t care a lot for superhero movies, but this one is special. It’s heartfelt, funny, and eye-popping. I loved it.”
Stephen King and Andy Muschietti have worked together in the past, as the director helmed renowned horror films IT: Chapter One and IT: Chapter Two. This could be the reason why the author was able to secure a seat at the early screening.

James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, once spoke with Variety and discussed the controversies that surround The Flash. The filmmaker, however, viewed the project in a more positive light and said:
“I will say here that “Flash” is probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”
He noted that David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods sets up The Flash, which is meant to reset everything in the world of DC. Following the major franchise overhaul since he and Peter Safran stepped up as heads, Gunn also promised “that everything from our first project forward is going to be unified.”
WB CEO Loves The Flash And Teases Fans With Upcoming DC Projects
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav told The Wrap about their plans for the future of various DC franchises:
“A few weeks ago, James and Peter rolled out Phase 1 of their highly anticipated multiyear plan for DC studios across film, television, and animation with five films and five television series already in the works. The new era for DC under a single creative vision is in full swing.”
The WB executive also praised The Flash and claimed:
“I saw it and loved it. It’s a wow. I can’t wait for ‘The Flash’ to hit the theaters in June.”
Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen and travels back in time to prevent the death of his mother, only to face the terrifying consequences of altering reality and opening portals to multiverses. To restore peace on Earth and defeat General Zod, he recruits a retired Batman and a Kryptonian heroine.
Aside from Miller, the film features Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton, Michael Shannon, Ben Affleck, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, and Antje Traue, among others.
The Flash hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
