From Software’s Armored Core VI has finally launched after an 11-year wait and the game has started to make waves just after a day of its release. The game is the fifth-biggest launch of the year with over 150k concurrent players on Steam and etched its name among heavyweights. The four titles bigger than Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon this year are Hogwarts Legacy, Baldur’s Gate 3, Sons of the Forest, and Resident Evil 4.
Armored Core VI is also the second-biggest launch ever from developers From Software. The game is only second to the critically acclaimed title Elden Ring and more than any Souls game. The game has yielded mind-blowing results and the game could easily see record more players since it’s just been a day.
Armored Core VI Fell Short of the Elden Ring Record
Armored Core VI is a new game in the third-person shooter series and was first announced at the Game Awards 2022, with developers revealing amazing details about the game. The hype around the game bore fruits and the game saw an impressive number of players just after its release with over 150k Steam players on day 1 and was only behind four aforementioned games in 2023.
However, the game fell short of From Software’s title Elden Ring which saw a whopping 953k players. This massive gap between Armored Core VI and Elder Ring numbers shows how beautifully crafted and amazing Elden Ring was with its appeal to a wide gamers audience. However, it is also worth acknowledging that the Armored Core series has always been catering to a niche audience.
The game features amazing visuals and captivating mechanized gameplay mechanics along with the fact that a new game was coming in the series that had been missing since 2012. Players have expressed their enthusiasm regarding the game and have definitely been impressed by its intricate strategic battles.
