Following Disney’s 2020 Investor Day presentation, Kevin Feige updated the MCU phase 4 slate. However, Armor Wars among the list of deliverables failed to make it to the silver screen.
After delaying the project multiple times, Armor Wars is finally taking its shape. While originally decided to be a 6-part series on Disney+, the MCU project is now being re-developed as a big-budget film. Further, fans are overly excited about the movie, since it might serve as an opportunity to star Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man.
Major Update Reveals Armor Wars’ Place In The MCU Slate
After being delayed multiple times and facing format changes, since Kevin Feige‘s 2020 announcement, Armor Wars finally found its way to the big screen. Originally intended to be a 6 part Disney+ series, the MCU project is set to release as a theatrical movie starring Don Cheadle.
Following the writers’ strike and changes on the project, The Cosmic Circus finally dropped major updates regarding Armor Wars. Confirming the place of Armor Wars on MCU slate, the outlet mentioned, the movie has been scheduled after Fantastic Four as per Disney’s decision.
While Fantastic Four is set to release on May 2nd, 2025, Armor Wars has thus been scheduled for the July 25th, 2025 date. However, touching upon the looming uncertainty based on the writers’ strike, The Cosmic Circus mentioned, while the release date is subject to change, the place in the slate following Fantastic Four will remain the same.
Robert Downey Jr Was Spotted On Captain America 4 Set
Dropping such a major update regarding the upcoming movie, The Cosmic Circus got MCU fans excited. Well, why not? Since the plot of the movie suggests a possible appearance of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man. The Armor Wars storyline surrounds Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes, aka War Machine, who faces Tony Stark’s worst fears about his technology falling into the wrong hands.
Thus, finding Tony Stark’s name in the plot is more than thrilling for fans, following the loss of Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. However, Robert Downey Jr‘s possible casting in Armor Wars makes people wonder if he is engaged in any current projects. Well, Downey was supposedly spotted on Captain America: Brave New World, set.
“They are filming Captain America 4 around the White House…Robert Downey Jr was there last night and they were driving all sorts of supercars” Nawar Shora posted.
According to recent reports, author and public speaker Nawar Shora shared a post via LinkedIn about the Captain America sequel being filmed near his office. He further wrote having a brief chat with a member of the movie’s security team who mentioned about Robert Downey Jr’s presence on the set.
Thus, although it’s uncertain if the Iron Man actor was actually there for his role, or just to catch up with his co-stars, the news is turning social media upside down. It seems MCU fans have hit the jackpot with the Armor Wars update and the rumored presence of Robert Downey Jr on the Captain America 4 set.
