Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s uber-popular divorce settlement finally came to a solid end, with the actress eventually paying the divorce settlement after almost a year. The widely publicized Depp vs Heard defamation case was resolved in the Virginia court with Heard losing the case and owing $1M to her former husband, Depp.
Following the December deal between the former couple, Amber Heard finally paid the $1M in damages to Johnny Depp. However, it has been reported, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor made the decision to donate the entire settlement amount to five different charities, with $200,000 going to each.

Following her departure to Spain with her daughter Oonagh, Amber Heard finally settled her widely publicized defamation case, by paying $1M to Johnny Depp. Closing the Virginia defamation case as per the December deal between Heard and Depp, the actress’ insurance company covered the $1M in damages after almost a year.
However, according to reports, Johnny Depp appears to have decided upon donating the entire sum to charities. Sources close to the actor revealed, how the 60 years old decides to divvy up the payment to five charities, with $200,000 going to each. Depp handpicked five charities that benefit sick children, conserve the environment, and that provide safe housing for underserved communities.
The selected five organizations include – Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society, and Amazonia Fund Alliance. According to sources, Painted Turtle and Tetiaroa Society, are actually homages to heroes in Depp’s life. Thus, the actor wishes to continue the legacies by donating the entire sum to nonprofit organizations.

Previously losing his reputation following Amber Heard‘s blasphemy and the defamation lawsuit, Depp simply wished to restore them over time. Unwilling to bankrupt Heard, Depp made his point, when he settled the deal for $1M with the actress in December 2022.
