Talking to The Early Show’s anchor Rene Syler, Ethan Hawke stated that it was easy for his character to fall in love with  Angelina Jolie’s character because it resonated with real-life events. He went on to say that she is the 00s’ Marilyn Monroe.

“I hope she wouldn’t mind me saying, I have a theory she’s kind of in the 2000s what Marilyn Monroe was in the ’50s because women love her and men love her. She has this overt sensuality, sexuality. But in her case, Marilyn was a victim, as a ’50s kind of women, and there is something deeply empowering about Angelina. I really like her. I never worked with somebody that commanded so much attention.”

Well, he is not wrong. I mean, who wouldn’t fall in love with Jolie, have you seen her? Although, do you agree with Hawke comparing Jolie to Monroe?

Even though Taking Lives was released almost two decades ago, Hawke hasn’t been able to forget his kiss with Jolie. During an appearance on What What Happens Live, Hawke stated,

“With all due respect – the woman has been in the press a lot lately – but I will say, the best onscreen [kiss] I ever had was [with] Angelina Jolie…What made it so great? Pillowy lips, a lot of tongue….Why is Amadeus, Wolfgang Mozart, a genius? Angelina Jolie was born to whittle men, to make them weak. When she kisses you, you don’t know your name.”

It looks like Hawke does not believe in not kissing and telling! However, when the question is about his best off-screen kiss, the actor’s lips are sealed shut. He stated, “I had a few good years, but the most wonderful experiences didn’t happen with anyone you have ever heard of.” Is it his wife, Ryan Hawke, he’s talking about?
