Before the year 2016, a deal was ongoing between executives of Marvel and Sony to integrate the character of Spider-Man back into the MCU. When the deal went successful, it was rumored that Andrew Garfield would have to be replaced. After failing to appear at an event in Brazil where the release date of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was going to be announced, an alleged email between the actor and Sony representatives was leaked.
Canceling his appearance at the last minute, the Sony reps were very angry with the actor’s behavior and therefore, any chance of a sequel with Andrew Garfield in it was eliminated. When the chance came, Andrew Garfield held on and didn’t let go by reprising his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). After what felt like a redemption come true, fans then started praising the actor and hailing him as “the best Spider-Man of all time”.
