4 long months have passed since the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial took place, resulting in the former winning the case. And yet, the drama that unfolded during the six-week trial as well as because of it, continues to follow both the stars even months later.
The trial ended after a laboriously long period of time with Depp emerging victorious as the jury found that his ex-wife had, as a matter of fact, defamed him with malicious intent. As a result, Heard has to pay $10.35 million to Depp in compensatory damages. And that is exactly what seems to be taking a toll on the actress.
Amber Heard has again changed lawyers to find the easy way out of potential bankruptcy
As the chaotic trial between the two renowned stars finally ended in June, Amber Heard had lost the case with the jury declaring that she had indeed defamed Johnny Depp in a newspaper piece published in 2018.
The Aquaman actress is supposed to pay $10.35 million to her ex-husband as a consequence and that doesn’t even include the amount to be paid in punitive damages. It’s a lot, to say the least, and Heard seems to have found herself in a pickle as far as paying the sum is concerned.
Currently, David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown are representing Heard; the actress also recently hired Kirk Pasich, a revered insurance attorney, to polish her legal team and look for any opportunities that might help her find a way out of paying a whopping sum of $10.35 million.
Heard has consistently been trying to get a multitude of well-known insurance companies to ultimately cover all her legal expenses. The only predicament is that the said legal bills seem to go beyond a total of $15 million. No wonder the insurance companies are not too keen on extending a helping hand.
Is there any hope for Amber Heard to get out of this situation?
From the way everything is going for the 36-year-old actress, nobody can surely tell whether or not she’ll be able to get through this period of plight or even if she does find a way out, how long would it take her to solve everything.
She is currently being sued by the insurance companies to prevent her from having to pay the libel settlement with the help of a California law that tends to restrict insurers from covering ‘wilful acts.’
Heard’s recent addition to her legal team, Pasich, has also been helping and assisting the actress to handle the situation. But so far, no conclusive results have come to life.
Hopefully, they might just end up finding a way out for their sakes or come up with something that is beneficial to both parties so as to further avoid any conflict.
No official word from Heard about the same has come up yet.
