15. Happily N’Ever After (2006): A CG animation production, the movie is eerily weird, to say the least. And it definitely wasn’t a thing of the time. Filled with unamusing jokes and corny lines, it’s no surprise the movie has a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

14. Cinderella (2021): To say people had high hopes for Cabello’s acting debut is an understatement. To say it was was disappointing is also one. Overacting and heavy auto-tune plagued the movie. The only good thing about this Cinderella adaptation was Billy Porter playing the sassy godmother.

13. If the Shoe Fits (1990): Featuring the 90’s heartthrobs, Rob Lowe and Jennifer Grey, the movie was set to be a success. But for today’s viewers, the story gives too much of an adolescent vibe.

12. Another Cinderella Story (2008): Selena Gomez is one of few celebrities who truly excels in both the music and television industry. But, unfortunately, Another Cinderella Story doesn’t make the cut. It’s filled with cringey songs and dance steps involving brooms.

11. Cinderfella (1960): We’ve seen more than enough memes on gender-swapping. If you haven’t caught it until now, Cinderfella features Jerry Lewis as Fella and Anna Maria Alberghetti as Princess Charming. Yup, you got it right. The movie might not appeal to all age demographics, but it has a comedic and heartfelt touch.

10. Sesame Street: CinderElmo (1999): This delightful film features the adorable characters of Sesame Street alongside human actors, which is more of an adaptation of Cinderfella than Cinderella. Nevertheless, it truly reminds one of simpler times, besides the occasional childishness of the film.

9. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1965): While there’s nothing out of the box about this adaptation, one can’t help but be mesmerized by the beautiful Ann Warren as Cinderella!

8. The Glass Slipper (1955): Unlike most stories, our protagonist is not portrayed as the feminine type in The Glass Slipper. Besides the tomboy disliked by others for her short hair, the plot is pretty much the same. However, scriptwriters do deserve due credit for the comedic elements they added to the movie.

7. A Cinderella Story (2004): This movie is the perfect modern adaptation of the fairytale, ticking all checkboxes from the castings to the plot.

6. Ella Enchanted (2004): Unlike the 2021 Cinderella, Ella Enchanted does a better job portraying the girl boss trope without overdoing it. Anne Hathaway puts up an outstanding performance as Ella of Frell.

5. Cinderella (2015): Kenneth Branagh does a fantastic job with the movie, despite it being the same story. The sets and costume designs are stunning, and Lily James does a great job portraying the kind yet strong Ella.

4. Into the Woods (2014): What sets this movie apart is that the fairytale isn’t much of a fairytale. Cinderella’s prince is charming, but he was never meant to be sincere. The combination of different elements serves as a more realistic and darker take on our beloved fairytales.

3. Cinderella (1950): To this very day, nothing competes to the comfort of watching the Walt Disney classic. The animation style is unrefined, but it instills that sense of nostalgia and warmth, which is the whole point of fairytales.

2. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997):  Robert Iscove went all out with this masterpiece. The casting, the music, the aesthetics; everything mixes perfectly.

1. Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998): This isn’t your conventional Cinderella story. The movie strikes a balance between the plot of the original fairytale and elements of the Renaissance period.
