The Flash Will Bring Back Iconic Teddy Sears For His Role

Being acclaimed for its unique style, DC’s The Flash made the character of Barry Allen way famous before his introduction in the DCEU/DCU. Portrayed by Grant Gustin, the series has been hailed as one of the finest as people continue to watch it even after 8 seasons.

With Barry Allen returning for one more time in the ninth and finals season of the CW show, people were delighted to hear the return of two more beloved iconic characters. From the earlier seasons, Teddy Sears and John Wesley Shipp have been announced to reprise their respective roles in the final season.

Teddy Sears, who first appeared in the second season of The Flash, portrayed the character of Jay Garrick. In 2017, it was revealed that the character of Garrick was actually the villain Hunter Zolomon aka Zoom in the series. Eric Wallace, the showrunner of the series was elated to share the news with people around the world.

“As one of our most memorable villains ever, he scared and delighted audiences in Season 2. And now, I’m happy to announce that the brilliant Teddy Sears is coming back as the evil Zoom aka Hunter Zolomon… for one more battle against Team Flash. It’s a reunion I’ve been hoping could happen for several seasons, and now I’m so excited that we were finally able to bring Teddy and incredible talents back into our Flash Family for our epic and emotional ninth season. Before the final season of the CW show premiered, actor Grant Gustin had a few words as a means of goodbye to the show. While having portrayed Barry Allen since the series’ inception in 2014, Gustin quickly became a fan-favorite for the people.

“I’m ready for it to be over. And that’s not for any negative reason. It’s like when you’re getting ready to finish high school and—granted I don’t know what college I’m going to after this, I might not get into college—but you’re excited to wrap up and move on to the next phase of your life.”

With the first two episodes of the ninth season released on 8th February, The Flash is available to stream on DirectTV.
