Alan Wake 2 is definitely among one of the most anticipated games being released this year. After a whole decade, Alan Wake 2 is finally around the corner. As far as Remedy Entertainment has revealed to the players, it seems like Alan Wake 2 is going to be a survival horror title.
Developers are focusing more on horror this time and have two protagonists, Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. There would be more options for combat and a vast arsenal of weapons compared to the prior game. However, in a recent interview, the developers of this title also revealed how long gamers would require to beat this game.
How long is Alan Wake 2?
The developers of Alan Wake 2 from Remedy Entertainment have revealed in an interview with WCCFTech that this upcoming title is going to be way longer than Control which was previously their longest game.
“So Control certainly was our longest game to date, and Alan Wake 2 is going to be longer than that. 20 hours plus.”
The developers also explained that the game will be long because it has two stories intertwined with each other. One story revolves around Alan Wake who was the protagonist of the first game and the other focuses on Saga Anderson, an FBI agent. They added,
“We have always internally felt that we need to find ways to do longer games because it’s just like people are looking at it from a value of money perspective.”
Since the game would be featuring split perspectives, developers stated that a single playthrough wouldn’t be enough for the game since nothing could be missed out on. As the longest game ever produced from Remedy, Alan Wake 2 is going to be quite a massive game.
When is Alan Wake 2 releasing?
Remedy Entertainment revealed that Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27, 2023. The initial release date for the title was 17th October; however, it got shifted 10 days later. Remedy Entertainment posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the reason for this delay was because of the packed release schedule around the actual release date.
The developers have also confirmed that Alan Wake 2 would be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC players would be able to access the game from the Epic Game Store. There is no discussion about the physical release of the game. It will only be available in digital release. Remedy said in their Alan Wake 2 FAQ that to “keep the price of the game at $59.99 / €59.99 and the PC version at $49.99 / €49.99,” they are avoiding the physical release of the game.
