Ben Affleck’s return as a cameo in DCEU movies has already been announced. The actor will be starring in The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, this year. While the future of Affleck in DC remains uncertain. An interesting update about one of his potential upcoming films is making rounds on the internet.
Throughout his career, he has opted for many challenging roles and was successful in nailing them all. Apart from the superhero genre and action/comedy films, he has also been a part of a sports movie. The movie’s name is none other than The Way Back, directed by Gavin O’Connor. But according to the latest update, looks like fans will get one more sports-like film starring Affleck.
Ben Affleck Eyed For Safdie Brothers Movie
After almost three years, the Safdie brothers are back to creating one more masterpiece in Hollywood. The talented brothers have some of the finest works under their belt like Uncut Gems and Good Time. They are not just into directing but also into acting, editing, and producing.
According to a recent report given by John Rocha and Jeff Sneider, it’s known that Ben Affleck is rumored to appear in a Safdie Brothers movie. It’s still not confirmed whether the Live By Night actor will be in the lead role or supporting role.
Megan Thee Stallion and Uncut Gems Adam Sandler are also known to join the cast of this new film. Other details about the film are still under wraps. But it’s known that it will be a Netflix movie that will take place in the world of sports memorabilia. Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie will be producing and writing the script of this particular movie. According to Deadline, Netflix has no comments as of now on the production of this project.
Ben Affleck’s Love For Baseball Sport
The Paycheck actor has always been a fan of Baseball but he made people around him hooked on the sport as well. In a past interview with People, Ben Affleck’s former wife Jennifer Garner revealed that he made her fall in love with the Baseball sport. Garner revealed that she used to love football since her childhood days. But she developed an interest in football when she met Affleck.
“We’re really a baseball house,” When I was first dating Ben, I’d never watched baseball. I didn’t really care, I may say, about baseball. But if you watch three or four games in a row, you learn just enough to hook you in. And it’s the same as a soap opera, right? If you watch three or four, you get just enough of a storyline to grab you, and that’s why people are so into them.”
Ben Affleck is a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox team and that’s the reason he refused once to wear a Yankees cap in the filming of Gone Girl in 2014. In a statement released by The New York Times, Affleck mentioned the reason why couldn’t wear the Yankees cap.
“I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can’t. I can’t wear it because it’s going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can’t do it.’ And I couldn’t put it on my head.”
As Ben Affleck has an interest in sports, he might be a fair choice to be cast in the Safdie brothers movie.
