After director Patty Jenkins left Wonder Woman 3 for the higher-ups at DC, Gal Gadot reportedly made a choice. Although undisclosed, it is confirmed that the Israeli actress will make a cameo as Wonder Woman in DC’s upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023).

Gal Gadot Rumored To Be In Shazam! Fury of the Gods

With the DCU going back into chaos as the new lineup gets revealed, fans ask the quintessential question of certain actors that should return to the DCU, but will they? Since the dawn of the Justice League, Wonder Woman has been an integral part of the team. But what about the only actor portraying Princess Diana?

Gal Gadot has to pick a side eventually since her only choices in the matter are to leave the DCU or leave director Patty Jenkins behind. It is a tricky time, since the recent trailer for DC’s upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods showcased glimpses of Wonder Woman to excite the audience and draw them in.

The latest screenshots (which are quite blurry), captured the image of a character that seems to resemble Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. The screenshots showcase a scene that features Wonder Woman’s iconic bracelet along with her armor. Though unconfirmed, another image also features the upper backside of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the trailer. Fans stay excited for any news about the Red Notice actor’s future in the DCU since there have been no updates since the Patty Jenkins fallout.

After director Patty Jenkins walked out of Wonder Woman 3 for some reasons that stay complicated, there was no news of Gal Gadot’s further involvement in the franchise. Having started their journey together back in 2017 with the premiere of Wonder Woman, the two had become quite good friends in these recent years.

It was rumored that James Gunn allegedly left the door open for Gal Gadot and gave her a choice to leave the DCU or continue with the role of Wonder Woman. Seeing glimpses of Gal Gadot throughout the trailer, it seems that the Fast Five actor chose the latter. It was also observed that the new lineup of DC did not reveal a single project related to Wonder Woman or wherein she is the sole protagonist. This could possibly hint at making space for other characters, but the decision seems to be a controversial one. Not to demotivate the audience but the cameos could also be an old recording that she did for DC before her friend’s walking out.

DC’s upcoming movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods is slated for a release date of 17th March 2023 in theaters across the U.S.
