As per reports, Jennifer Lawrence met with the Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino for an appearance in two of his films, but it did not work out for them.
Jennifer Lawrence rejected director Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight
The Red Sparrow star had met up with the prestigious director Quentin Tarantino for an appearance in his films, however, they could not reach a favorable conclusion. Tarantino seemed keen on working with the actress, as he had offered her roles in two of his films.
As per reports, the actress was offered a role in Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. Reportedly, the director was quite impressed by the actress and offered her the role of Daisy Domergue. He shared with Entertainment Weekly,
“I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan.”
“I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything. She was just doing a courtesy to me, I think. She was doing Joy. She had to do all this publicity for the Hunger Games movies. There was just no way in the world that she was available.”
Jennifer Jason Leigh played the role in the film, and Tarantino was quite happy with his casting choice.
Jennifer Lawrence was in talks with Quentin Tarantino for Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood
As per an interview with Daily Mail, Tarantino had also offered the role of Squeaky Fromme to JLaw in the Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt starrer Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood. He shared with Marc Maron on his WTF Podcast about wanting to cast Jennifer Lawrence for the role.
He said,
“Early on, I investigated the idea of Jennifer Lawrence playing Squeaky. She came down to the house to read the script cause I wasn’t letting it out. So, she came down to the house and I gave her the script and said, ‘Go in my living room or go outside by the pool and read it.'”
The Don’t Look Up actress seemed interested in playing the part, but the role was not fit for her. Tarantino has shared in the podcast that they talked about the role and Lawrence was interested in doing it. But somehow it didn’t work out for them.
The role of Squeaky Fromme then went to Dakota Fanning.
Jennifer Lawrence Gave Casting Advice to Quentin Tarantino
Jennifer Lawrence and Quentin Tarantino did not get a chance to work together despite discussing two movies. However, during one of the meetings, Lawrence gave casting advice to Tarantino.
According to The Playlist, Tarantino said,
“Lawrence is a very nice person and I respect her as an actress.”
“She goes, she actually goes, ‘Can I just make a recommendation for somebody to cast?’ I go, ‘Oh yeah, sure.'”
Jennifer Lawrence responded,
“You know the agent guy that talks to Rick at the beginning? Why don’t you cast Marc Maron for that? I think he would be really, really good.”
Tarantino said,
“If I wasn’t basing it on an older fellow, sure, he could do a good part with that. She was in there pitching for you, man!”
Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood was released in 2019 and featured the two A-listers of Hollywood, Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio. It was a commercial success with a gross of $357.4 million worldwide.
