After devoting more than two decades of her life to the film industry, Cameron Diaz announced her retirement in 2018. Followed by the release of her 2014 comedy-drama, the actress decided to give herself a break. She worked on several books and welcomed her daughter, Raddix Madden. Four years later, The Counselor actress announced her return with Jamie Foxx, in an action comedy, Back in Action.
However, it looks like The Holiday star is now reflecting on her decision. Sources have now come forward with the claim that Diaz is not enjoying being away from her three-year-old daughter and her husband and planning to say goodbye after her upcoming film.
Cameron Diaz Wants to Spend More Time With Her Family
The upcoming action comedy Back in Action could be Cameron Diaz’s last film. The actress, who was making her way back to Hollywood after officially retiring in 2018, seems done with the film industry. Earlier reports claimed that her comeback project faced particular issues after her co-star, Jamie Foxx, had a “meltdown” on the set.
However, sources have revealed that she is not enjoying her time away from her daughter and husband. Although she is not a big fan of the “drama and confrontation” that happens on movie sets, the 50-year-old actress reportedly has no issues with her co-star. Sources close to Diaz have revealed that she is finding it difficult to stay away from her daughter and husband.
“These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.”
Sources also revealed that she has nothing to prove as she has been one of the most successful Hollywood stars. Her films have grossed over $7 billion globally, and she currently has a net worth of $140 million. However, like many superstars, the Annie star has kept her personal life away from the spotlight and plans to keep it that way.
Cameron Diaz Decided to Comeback For Jamie Foxx
The source also shared that Cameron Diaz has other responsibilities as well. After her retirement, she launched her own Wine brand, Avaline, with Katherine Powers, and she needs to focus on it too. Diaz and Foxx have been very close since they starred in the 2014 comedy-drama, Annie.
And Jamie Foxx is the only reason she accepted the offer for Back in Action. An alleged altercation on the set of Back in Action resulted in the firing of three crew members. However, the Annie co-stars are still on good terms, and there is no tension between them.
While her husband has supported her comeback, her busy schedule has also taken a toll on him. Insiders claim that she met her family while working on the film, but that is not the same anymore.
Back in Action is expected to release in early 2024 on Netflix.
