Hugh Jackman and Logan / Wolverine (X-Men film series) have become synonymous. And now, Jackman will be donning his beloved Wolverine suit once again for Shawn Levy directed Deadpool 3. Marvel fans got their first glimpse of Jackman in his yellow Wolverine costume when a photo from the Deadpool 3 set surfaced online.
After Ryan Reynolds himself sparked an increase in excitement with his revelation about the upcoming Deadpool 3, fans were on the edge of their seats waiting for more information about the upcoming cinematic masterpiece. The third installment has developed into a hot topic of discussion with the 2024 release date.
It seems as though new information emerges each day, generating more excitement.
Dafne Keen Reportedly Returning as X-23 in Deadpool 3?
Because of the high hopes that fans have for Deadpool 3, there is excitement throughout the fandom. The movie, which stars the affable Ryan Reynolds, is based on the Marvel Comics character. Everyone continues to enjoy Reynolds’ Deadpool because he stands out from the other superheroes.
Now, as per new reports, it is widely believed that Dafne Keen would eventually have the chance to reprise her role as Laura/X-23 after her critically acclaimed performance in 2017’s Logan.
Prior to the Disney agreement, the His Dark Materials actress confirmed that she had been in preliminary discussions to reprise her role as Laura in a future project. It now appears that she may have the chance to unleash the claws once again and reunite with Hugh Jackman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
CanWeGetSomeToast, an insider, claims that before the strikes began, Keen was in talks to play X-23 in Deadpool 3. Once the situation is resolved, Keen will hopefully resume talks.
In an interview with ComicBook.com in 2020, Keen said:
“I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn’t happen, but I really do hope it does because I loved playing Laura. She holds a very special place in my heart and she’s an incredible character. And to be fair, the whole Deadpool 3 situation really, really made me happy because, obviously when Disney bought Fox, I suspected they weren’t going to do any more R-rated films, but then greenlighting Deadpool is a great sign for other R-rated movies.”
Jennifer Garner Has Now Joined The Deadpool 3 Cast
Many other X-Men characters are rumored to join Deadpool 3 in addition to Hugh Jackman, who is confirmed to appear in the upcoming threequel. A new report claims Jennifer Garner will also be reprising her role as Elektra in the film.
The actress gained fame in 2005 for playing the lead role in the superhero film Elektra. Even though Garner was adored by the audience for her titular role, the film received a mixed reception. Nearly 20 years have passed, but recent events indicate that the actress will reclaim the role in Deadpool 3.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that a number of sources have confirmed the rumor that the Alias actress will reprise her role as Elektra. The film is intended to be the 34th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018).
The upcoming film is expected to be a huge success thanks to a crossover with the X-Men series and some other Marvel superheroes. Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Ryan Reynolds, Zeb Wells, and Shawn Levy collaborated on the writing of the script, which is directed by Levy.
The release date of Deadpool 3 is set for May 3, 2024.
