Margot Robbie Punched Sebastian Stan in the Head

Margot Robbie and Sebastian Stan starred in the 2017 film I, Tonya, which follows the life and career of the American figure skater Tonya Harding. Stan portrayed Harding’s ex-husband Jeff Gillooly in the film. When the Focus actress was asked about her favorite moment from the film, she described a scene with the Monday star that did not make it to the final cut.

Robbie shared that while they were filming an argument scene, director Craig Gillespie advised them to do whatever they felt right at the moment. However, the actress shared that they got a little carried away and forgot that they were on a film set.

“We got so carried away that I genuinely forgot that we were on a film set and that I wasn’t Tonya and that he wasn’t Jeff,” Robbie said. She further explained that she was upset after her co-star slammed her hand on the door, after which she stormed off the set.

The Suicide Squad actress further explained that when Stan came after her and asked, “Where are you going,” she told him that she was headed to the hospital as he broke her hand. Robbie also said that she was so caught up in the moment that she punched the Black Swan actor in the side of his head.

Margot Robbie Found Sebastian Stan Perfect As Her On-Screen Partner

Although the Australian actress punched after getting too lost in one of the scenes, she knew he would be perfect to be her on-screen partner. Margot Robbie revealed that she needed the right partner for her character development in the film, and she found that one person when she saw the Captain America actor’s audition.

“I really find my character when I’m acting with someone,” she said during an interview with Gold Derby. The Wolf of the Wall Street star shared that it was highly important for the film to find the right actor for Jeff Gillooly’s role in the movie. She was able to find that perfect partner in Sebastian Stan after going through multiple audition tapes and said that she felt amazing working with the Marvel star.
