Gal Gadot is best known for starring as the heroic, powerful, and fearless Wonder Woman. Her portrayal as the charismatic yet badass DC superhero has made her an established action star and she has since starred in movies like the Red Notice.
Now as she is back in the Jomes Bond-esque Netflix’s Heart of Stone, people can’t help but wonder if she would be joining Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible or the Bond franchise after she was quoted as saying how much she likes those two franchises.
Gal Gadot To Join The Top Action Franchises?
Gal Gadot would soon be starring in Netflix’s Heart of Stone. A spy thriller full of action, emotions, and exciting twists and turns, the Wonder Woman star plays Rachel Stone who is a terrific fighter and startling spy who can very well join the ranks of James Bond or Ethan Hunt. Talking about her anti-misogynist portrayal and the character she plays, Gadot mentioned how big of a fan she is of the popular Mission: Impossible and James Bond movies.
“I guess I just got lucky, playing very strong, powerful characters. Heart of Stone was something that I always wanted to do, I always felt I was a big fan of this genre. I’m a big fan of Mission Impossible and Bond movies. And I never had the opportunity, as a girl, watching myself in one of those, you know. I was always wondering if there’s room for something like that, but female driven.”
While Gal Gadot has not confirmed starring in the Bond movies or opposite Tom Cruise, it would certainly be exciting to see her as a Bond girl, especially when her DC co-star Henry Cavill has been speculated to star as James Bond.
Gal Gadot Loves Her Heart Of Stone Role
Seeing the Heart of Stone trailer, one cannot help but wonder how James Bond-like the movie feels but still has its own originality and draw that is hardly present in a female-driven action movie. Gal Gadot’s character feels like the perfect action star who rather than following a male narrative of being a lead action star follows her own skills and capabilities as a woman to save the day. This is apparently what attracted the Fast & Furious star to do the movie.
“I wanted to show a great story about a female character who is doing it in the action genre. Right? She is thriving……. To me, it was so important in the DNA to make Heart of Stone a little different, because men and women are different. They’re built differently, they operate differently.”
And thus Rachel Stone came about who is every bit exciting, unwavering, and witty as any of her male counterparts, but has a deep sense of integrity, empathy, and groundedness that is rarely seen in a lead-action star.
Heart of Stone will be on Netflix on August 11, 2023.
