Fortunately House of the Dragon (2022) was able to redeem that by bringing back the glory and epic narrative that the IP was known for.

It went on to bag several awards at prestigious award events like the Emmys and the Golden Globes. It put back the mythology of Game of Thrones saga to its place among prestige TV narratives. The second season of the hit show is currently shooting and seems like they have a new addition to the ever expanding saga.

This information is to be taken with a grain of salt as it is not yet made official by other reputed news outlets. It remains to be seen whether this news is a credible source or just a rumor.

The second season of the new hit series is currently shooting amidst the writers and actors strike going on in America. As the actors involved in the show are based in England, they do not fall under the rules of the Screen Actors Guild of America and thus can continue working.

House of the Dragon bought back the epic scale, intense familial politics and complex interpersonal relationships between characters that the saga, created by George R.R. Martin was known for. Since the hiccup of season 8 of Game of Thrones, it seems that the makers of House of the Dragon have observed and learned what went wrong. The backlash received from fans regarding the frustrating final season of the popular show seems to have put the new makers at edge.

They have cross corrected it, putting the focus on the compelling epic storytelling and rich layered characters. Thus, even though Game of Thrones fans including the actors in it like Emilia Clarke have expressed their disappointment in what transpired in season of the popular show, the prequel series seems to have put back things on track.

She recently expressed that the MCU is the best franchise she’s ever worked in, after leaving her previous franchise which she was not happy with. It seems like those comments have come to haunt her as Secret Invasion became the lowest rated MCU show as of 2023.
