Zachary Levi had once talked against visionary director Zack Snyder which left a bad impression on the people. Levi praised James Gunn for having a great plan for Shazam! Fury of the Gods which failed horribly, there are talks that Shazam 3 might not get its release after all.
According to the actor, the decision for James Gunn and Peter Safran to be the co-heads of the DC Studios was indeed a good one. Although Levi had compliments for the director, there does not seem to be a confirmation for the release of Shazam 3!
Zachary Levi Is Against Zack Snyder’s Vision of DCU?
Under the vision of Zack Snyder of the DC Extended Universe the 2019 movie Shazam! was released. The director allegedly had no problem with Zachary Levi but the latter apparently did not go along well with Snyder.
After the tumultuous year of 2021 when people pressurized Warner Bros. Discovery to release the Snyder Cut, DC fans were ultimately happy with the result. After his controversial exit from the DCEU (presently DCU), the fans were quite angry with how Warner Bros. was handling things. Zachary Levi, however, did not care for these transitions.
After the takeover by James Gunn and Peter Safran, Levi had nothing but praise for the newly created co-heads of the DC Studios.
“Peter has a lot of business sense and diplomacy and James is a creative visionary. I’m looking forward to seeing what they have in store.”
After these statements, people thought that Levi might also be removed from the DCU since there are no confirmed reports for an upcoming Shazam 3 movie in the works!
Zachary Levi Knows The Feeling of Snyder Fans
The Chuck actor knows what it felt like for Snyder fans when Shazam! Fury of the Gods failed miserably. The actor remarked that Snyder fans around the world rejoiced when the movie failed miserably. Levi also claimed that the hatred of the Snyder fans was also one of the reasons why the film failed miserably. A fan had written to Levi,
“There is no denying that at the moment there are many Snyder fans who are happy for the failure of your film and many of them wish that everything that is to come fails just for not continuing with the films of their director,”
The actor replied to the same,
“This is also true. Sad, but true. How much that actually affects the box office is anyone’s guess. But I think the biggest issue we’re having is marketing. This is a perfect family movie, and yet a lot of families aren’t aware of that. Which is just a shame.”
With director David F. Sandberg returning to helm the film and Zachary Levi once again in the lead role of Shazam!, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently screening in theaters around the world for audiences to see.
