We all have celebrities we want to meet at least once in our life. While it can only be a dream most of the time for us commoners, it looks like big-name celebrities also have that one artist they want to meet. Adele, one of the most popular singers of today, too, falls on that list.
For a long time, she wanted to meet the WWE legend turned actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and the 2023 Grammys made the possible for her. Adele won a Grammy but went home with two wins as she finally met Dwayne Johnson. Thanks to Trevor Noah who made her dream come true, Adele can now tick this one off of her bucket list!
Adele Meets Dwayne Johnson at the Grammys
The 2023 Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 04. Hosted once again by Trevor Noah, the night made dreams come true in more ways than one. During hosting, Noah revealed a few fun facts about the celebrities present in the room, giving an example of just how much he had to research for the event. For instance, he stated that rapper LL Cool J loves breakfast cereal and Cardi B has an obsession with presidents.
When he finally reached the table where Adele was seated, Noah shared with the audience that the one person Adele has always wanted to meet but never got the chance to is none other than Dwayne Johnson himself. When asked for confirmation, the singer confirmed the fun fact. In his quest of making this a thing of the past, Noah stated, “I found out that he’s a huge fan of yours too. I don’t have Dwayne Johnson here tonight, but I do have someone called The Rock!”
On cue, Johnson walks up behind Adele and was greeted by her jumping up to give him a hug. As Adele laughed with happiness, Noah asked the two to get acquainted as he left to continue on with the show. Johnson was then seen sitting next to her as the camera panned away from them. Further, into the event, it was Johnson who presented the Hello singer with a Grammy for best solo performance for Easy on Me. A true example of “cherry on top!”
Adele Freaked Out over Flowers from The Rock
Appearing in a video with YouTuber NikkieTutorials, Adele talked about the time when Johnson and his wife, Lauren Hashian, were supposed to be attending one of her concerts. For whatever reason, the couple couldn’t make it and sent their apologies in the form of flowers. Adele stated that she fell off her chair as she always wanted to be friends with Johnson.
“Literally I fell off my chair. He’s amazing. He’s just incredible. I just want him to be my mate. I want him to be my friend.”
She also told NikkieTutorials that she was a huge wrestling fan growing up. It looks like the friendship that she had been wanting for all these years will finally become a reality. She has no one but Noah to thank for that!
