Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably one of the most memorable action heroes of all time. He ruled the genre in the 80s and 90s, having starred in huge projects like the Terminator franchise, Predator, True Lies, The Last Stand, Total Recall, and Twins. He has definitely made a name for himself as quite a hardcore individual, being an actor as well as a bodybuilder.

Schwarzenegger recently starred in Netflix’s action-comedy series, Fubar, at the age of 75. Many have raised the question to that actor on his thoughts on retirement as one of his fellow action-movie stars, Bruce Willis quit acting due to health reasons.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Thoughts On Retirement

Bruce Willis is well known for his work in iconic movies like the Die Hard franchise and Pulp Fiction, who announced that he would be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis used to compete with each other in the action genre but became friends over time. During an interview, Schwarzenegger was asked about his feelings about the matter.

“I think that he’s fantastic. He was, always for years and years, is a huge, huge star. And I think that he will always be remembered as a great, great star. And a kind man. I understand that under his circumstances, health-wise, that he had to retire. But in general, you know, we never really retire. Action heroes, they reload.” He said.

Schwarzenegger stated that he respected Willis greatly and thought he was an incredibly memorable actor. He added that the actor would be remembered as a great star as well as a great man. However, he went on to say that he understood the circumstances that caused Willis to retire but he could not see himself doing that. He stated action heroes are not ones to retire, they simply reload and reinvent themselves.

Fans React to Arnold Schwarzenegger Saying That He Would Never Retire

After Arnold Schwarzenegger’s words that he had no plan to retire hit Twitter, fans were quick to express their opinions and reactions to this. Fans were thrilled by this news, excited that they will continue to get work from the actor and even potentially get a second season on Netflix’s Fubar.

Some fans even speculated that this would mean another movie in the Terminator franchise. Many loved that this was another take on Schwarzenegger’s iconic phrase, “I’ll be back!” from the Terminator franchise.
