Arnold Schwarzenegger rose to fame because of his work as a bodybuilder and then as an actor. His work has been highly regarded as one of the best actors of his time and even at the age of 75, his career is still on a rising pedestal. One factor that is highly regarded about him is how much he works out and how godlike his physique can be.
Even before he stepped into the world of Hollywood, he knew how to maintain his physique in a way that he would turn heads when passing by. However, it is no secret that a physique like that requires extensive hard work that also asks for dedication many might cower away from. Schwarzenegger was not one to fear away from working out as much as possible.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Tries To Keep His Ideal Physique By Working Out Every Day
Arnold Schwarzenegger knew that with the career choices that he has, there was no other option but to try and maintain his physique for as long as possible. Whether it was during a movie or afterward or even years before. He would start small by not pushing himself too hard and then increasing the duration of his exercises more and more.
“I bicycle down, it gives me a nice warm up, it’s like a half an hour ride and then I work out for another half an hour or 45 minutes. I try to come (to the gym) every day, but by trying every day I end up doing maybe 320 days a year.”
Soon enough, this trial and error process became one he was accustomed to. Schwarzenegger would try his level best to exercise every day to maintain his physique. This schedule allowed him to work out for the majority of the year with a total of 320 days a year.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Works Out Like He Is In His Prime
Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that oftentimes he still works out like he used to back when he was younger. While it can get a lot for him on some days, it does not stop. He added the fact that while earlier it was more about how much more he could do, now it was more about survival.
“It never stops. I do a combination, some days I go from one machine to the other but some days it’s leg day, then it’s the back, then it’s shoulders then it’s arms and it and it’s calves. Just like the old days but with less weight, it’s the same kind of draining.”
Schwarzenegger acknowledged the fact that he had grown old and it would not be long before the body he has worked so hard to get would soon start fading away. So it became necessary for him to work out for as long as he could before it was all taken away from him.
