5 Crimes Committed by One Piece Live-Action
1. Too Old Characters
In the manga and anime, the majority of the characters in the initial arc are just teenagers. They are young, energetic, and filled with enthusiasm. But in the live-action, the characters are shown as adults and this is not liked by the fans.
2. Cutting Out Essential Parts
The biggest highlight of Arlong Park arc was Zoro defeating almost all the fishermen in a matter of minutes and waiting for Luffy. It was one of the biggest hyped scenes of the arc but it was removed from the live action. There were many other events and incidents like this that were not included in the live-action.
3. Cultural Changes
The cultural appropriation in the live-action was not up to the mark. Ethnicities of many characters were changed in the live-action and although it was not much of an issue, fans did not like it.
4. Changing the Story
The biggest criticism that the live-action received was for changing the story of the series. The inclusion of Garp so early in the series was not liked by the fans because it changed the majority of the story and was different from the original manga.
5. CGI Mistakes
While the fans appreciated the series, they also pointed out some major CGI mistakes and issues in the series. Much of the live action was edited and filtered with VFX, which was good compared to other live actions but it was not loved by fans that much. For example, the scene where Mihawk cuts the ship.
