In an informative yet emotional op-ed, Angelina Jolie revealed the details of how she can never have any more biological children. The mother of six birthed three of her 6 children, two of them being twins. Back in 2015, the actress decided to have her ovaries, as well as fallopian tubes, removed to prevent the risk of cancer. She also underwent a double mastectomy earlier that year for the same reason.

Jolie revealed her family history with cancer and how she has the BRCA1 gene, which increased the risk of breast cancer by 87% and the risk of ovarian cancer by 50%.

“Three women in my family have died from cancer. My doctors indicated I should have preventive surgery about a decade before the earliest onset of cancer in my female relatives.”

The Lara Croft actress then added how she does not fear the fact that she cannot have any more biological children,

“Regardless of the hormone replacements I’m taking, I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes. But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared.”

However, Jolie not being able to have more biological children does not mean that she cannot adopt, as there is a possibility that might be open for adoption again as her oldest children have now left to do their things.

Angelina Jolie’s three oldest children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara have left home to follow their things. Even her second oldest daughter, Shiloh, will be leaving soon for college. Jolie, who has now quietly resorted to staying away from the limelight, is rumored to be experiencing loneliness and an empty nest syndrome.

There have been no details of her dating again after her disturbing separation from her ex-husband Brad Pitt. In such a scenario, there have been reports and speculation that the former United Nations Special Envoy is looking to open her arms to adopt again.

While these rumors have not been verified, Jolie might be delaying adoption due to her ongoing custody battle with ex-Pitt.
