James Bond – Casino Royale

Such was the charm of Henry Cavill that Entertainment Weekly named him the “Most Dashing Duke” in 2009 in the magazine. So it gets really hard to believe that someone can reject the handsome hunk for his appearance. Previously, during an interview, Cavill revealed that he missed out on the role of James Bond in Casino Royale because the director thought that he didn’t have the ideal body for the role. Cavill recalled,

Cavill rose to fame with his renowned DC character, Superman. But he was initially rejected for the role. Way before being cast in DC’s Man of Steel, the actor auditioned for the role of Superman in J.J. Abrams’ movie Superman Flyby. The actor did get the role in the film, but unfortunately, due to some reasons, the film never happened.

Cavill auditioned for the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. But he was rejected for the role as the makers of the film wanted a younger guy for the role who looked around 17 years old. When the casting of the film began, Cavill was 20 years old and didn’t fit perfectly for the role. The role eventually went to Robert Pattinson.

Even though Henry Cavill missed out on some of the major roles, he does not regret his struggling period in Hollywood, as he has learned a lot from his experiences. The actor is currently starring in The Witcher 3, which can be streamed on Netflix.
