Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man is undoubtedly one of the most powerful superheroes to ever exist. One of the most significant elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which was later used as mere paperweights was the Infinity Stones. The very thing Thanos used to wipe out half of the universe. For the people living under a rock, Reality, Time, Mind, Soul, Power, and Space make up the six Infinity stones that hold the power to reshape the universe in itself. When combined within the Infinity Gauntlet, the Stones become an indomitable force. However, when separated, they remain formidable individually, though not invincible.
Although, which one among them is the most powerful is up for debate, many believe the Power Stone to be one of them. But within the Marvel Universe, there exist powers capable of matching or surpassing the might of one or more of the Infinity Stones, and Robert Downey Jr’s character is believed to be one of them. Here is a list of three superheroes who overpowered Thanos’ Infinity Stones.

3. Star-Lord
In the MCU, Chris Pratt‘s character Star Lord’s father, Ego, was a Celestial who sought to use Star-Lord aka Peter Quill’s celestial heritage to harness his power as an amplifier. However, in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Quill ultimately rejects his father’s influence and part ways with him. But turns out the celestial trait in him did not quite vanish, thus allowing him to hold the Power Stone by hand to defeat Ronan. In addition to that, the Guardians of the Galaxy also shared the burden of the stone’s power by physically touching Quill, which helped to distribute the energy and prevent it from overwhelming him.
2. Iron Man
Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark aka Iron Man is truly invincible. One of the most popular and loved characters of the MCU for a reason. He is a genius, billionaire, and inventor, who brought the iconic armored hero to life, embodying technological prowess, wit, and an unwavering determination to protect the world. One of the qualities that people cherish about him the most, is his capability to learn from his mistakes. With every epic head-on fight, the inventor upgraded his suit.
One such update or tweak was the addition of Stark’s nanotech shield. During his fight with Thanos in Titan, Iron Man survived the energy shot thrown his way by the Mad Titan solely because of his nano-shield. When hit by the energy blast, the damaged shield was automatically recovering itself from the nanoparticles and thus in turn allowed him to withstand the Power Stone’s power.
3. Thor
The God of Thunder can do wonders, and the Power stone is no element that holds the capability to slow him down. Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor is in the first place in the list for a reason, since the King of New Asgard has survived the Power Stone attack thrice.
First, when he was tortured by Thanos. The Avengers: Infinity War witnessed some of the greatest fights in the Marvel universe. Thanos tortured him with the Power Stone until Loki surrendered the Tesseract. Second, when Thanos destroyed his spaceship using the Stone, and the Mighty Lord survived, the attack. And last but definitely not least, when Thor nearly killed Thanos.
Although, the God of Thunder lost, in the Infinity War saga, the thought of not going straight for his head ate him up from the inside. So, in the end, he went straight for his head when he met with the Mad Titan again while defeating nearly all of the Infinity Stones. After all, it was his last chance to set the record straight.
