Hollywood celebrities often get into feuds with each other. This seems to be true for Steven Seagal and John Leguizamo who recently reignited a decade-long feud. Talking about an infamous incident on the sets of Executive Decision back in 1996, the ongoing feud seems to have been brought back once again.

The Menu is a 2022 comedy/horror movie that made the audiences question their own food (and the chef). Portraying the character of a washed-up movie star with ego problems, John Leguizamo was praised for his unique character that seemed to blur the lines between reality and stardom.

Talking about the movie, Leguizamo revealed that his character was directly inspired by the actor/martial artist Steven Seagal. Recalling the decades-long feud that they had between them, Leguizamo called the actor a “horrible human” and a “washed up” actor.

“I’ve met lots of these stars like that, maybe before they were washed up, I kind of based mine on Steven Seagal. I had a bad run-in with him. We did a movie together. It was Executive Decision. He’s kind of a horrible human.”

After calling him a horrible human being, John Leguizamo revealed the feud that went down between the duo and how it has evolved over the years. By calling him a horrible human, it seems that the feud did not go down a good way and ended up turning worse over the years.

It is time for the big reveal. The reason for the animosity between the two actors that has once again been reignited started on the sets of the 1996 movie Executive Decisions. According to John Leguizamo, Seagal was rude to the actor on set and even physically attacked him which led to the eventual bad blood.

“He came in and was like, [low, breathy voice] ‘I’m in command. What I say is law.’ So I started, like, [snorts]. I mean, who the fuck talks like that? Who comes into rehearsal and says that shit? So I started laughing and he slammed me with an aikido elbow against a brick wall and knocked all the air out of me,”

After the on-set decisions were too much to handle, the movie was eventually released but Steven Seagal and John Leguizamo never saw each other’s faces again.
