Though she has not been involved in any major controversies so far, she was involved in an unfortunate accident back in 2016 while skiing. She crashed with another individual while skiing down a hill and as per reports the other person involved in the incident came from behind her and crashed into her. The accused individual, Dr. Terry Sanderson on the other hand blames Paltrow for being reckless and skiing very fast, as he couldn’t control himself, thus striking into her. Sanderson suffered multiple injuries with severe brain injury and four broken ribs.
“I was skiing and two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart, and then there was a body pressing against me.”
Gwyneth Paltrow even claimed Terry Sanderson had s*xually assaulted her as she felt that Sanderson was forcing himself upon her. Sanderson blamed the Iron Man actress as a reckless individual, and after their clash, the doctor claimed that Paltrow did not even help him get up and simply skied away. Initially, Sanderson filed a lawsuit against her for a huge $3.1 million which was rejected by the court so he cut down the value to $300,000 in response, Paltrow sued the other party for $1.
The Jury Bent Toward the Actress After a Long Discussion
In the case of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and retired Dr. Terry Sanderson, the jury has ruled their decision on Paltrow and stated that she was not responsible for the brain damage that Sanderson suffered during their clash, back in 2016. Furthermore, after the jury delivered their decision after considering every aspect of the trial which took them a little over 2 hours, hence the doctor was rejected his $300,000 lawsuit and Paltrow was awarded her $1 which she filed against him.
During the trial, Sanderson’s daughter, Polly Sanderson Grasham testified that after the accident Terry Sanderson became a completely different person suffering from the brain injury and became a very aggressive and angry person. Paltrow’s team replied to this claim by bringing on neurologist Dr. Robert Hoesch on the stand and according to testimony it does not look like Sanderson suffered any such injuries. He said that the injured individual suffered a “mild concussion” at best and also claimed that his deteriorated mental health had the least to do with that clash.
