Although stranger things have happened around these parts, such a claim as this certainly comes as a shocker, especially when Kevin Costner and his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner have been a familiar face in the Hollywood circle for quite some time. Between the dates of their shocking separation on April 11, 2023, and Costner being served with divorce papers, the actor claimed his former wife had swindled him for nearly $100,000 to pay for her legal aid and expenses.
“Since April 2023, Christine has withdrawn from my bank account and charged on my credit card a total of $95,000, payable to her divorce attorney and forensic accountant. This was done without any prior notice to me.”
Considering at the time, they were legally still married, it will be interesting to see how it plays out in court. In the meanwhile, Kevin Costner can hardly keep calm as he stops at nothing to unleash the full extent of his scorn on his ex-wife.
Kevin Costner Unleashes Rage on Estranged Wife
If legal rage can be a thing, it better stay out of Kevin Costner’s range. After being served with divorce papers on May 2nd, Costner paid a full sum of $1 million to the ex-Mrs. Costner, according to the terms laid out in the pre-nuptials. In addition, it was also reported that the star paid an additional sum to Ms. Baumgartner on the occasions of their marriage and their first anniversary. “As such, Christine now has available to her approximately $1,450,000 which she can use at her discretion, including to find alternative housing,” Costner stated in a revealing declaration.
As per the prenup agreement, Ms. Baumgartner was also required to move out of their $145 million California home within 30 days of serving the divorce papers, which she has failed to do. Although the couple continues to maintain joint custody of their three young children, they are yet to work out a schedule for visitation rights over the summer.
