HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS
Jim Carrey went through tedious makeover sessions to pull off his look as grinch. Some of these sessions were as long as eight hours, which the actor described as “nothing less than torture. “

The movie featured a transport vehicle called the Sandcrawler. During its shoot in Tunisia, the government notified George Lucas to move the vehicle farther from the international border. This is because the Libyan government identified it as an army vehicle and threatened military action.

Isla Fisher had a near-death experience during a scene. The set applauded her for the excellent performance without realizing she was drowning for real. Fisher struggled for about three minutes before someone came to help.

One of the extras from the set accidentally fell into the pond, which was dyed blue. The production paid him till the time the blue color wore off him.

Some of the cast had to rush to the hospital after finding that their food was had Angel Dust (A hallucinogen). Rumor has it; a discontented chef was trying to lay off his grudge against the producers.

Benedict Cumberbatch and his friends were kidnapped while they were on their way to the set. The kidnappers tried to get money and drugs from them.

The whole crew was horrified when they got to know that an actual dead body was found floating near the boathouse where everyone was filming.

JoBeth Williams spent the larger portion of her days shooting in mud amongst floating skeletons. Little did she know that the skeletons weren’t really fake.

Jim Caviezel was actually saved by Christ after a stroke of lightning hit him. He recalls having a loss of sight for a moment before everyone started screaming.

The character of Basil was later introduced in the movie after the director found that McDowell was afraid of snakes. Unfortunately, the snake also went missing from its designated drawer, terrifying everyone to their bone.

The makeover of the Chewbacca character led the crew to provide special protection to Peter Mayhew, as they were afraid that people might confuse him for bigfoot and kill him.
GOODFELLAS
Imperioli performed his own stunts in the movie, and suffered a deep cut on the hand on the sets. Funnily, the doctors from the emergency room started treating the fake bullet wounds instead of the cut.
