While filming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Johnny Depp badly injured his hand. It was so severe that he had to be instantly flown to the US all the way from Australia for surgery.
Henry Cavill injured himself very seriously while filming The Witcher (Season 2). He was running through the woods when he accidentally tore his hamstring. “It was a very, very bad tear, and I was very lucky that it wasn’t a complete detachment of the hamstring,” he said.
Jason Isaacs accidentally wounded Tom Felton with his walking stick on Harry Potter. “The very first scene that I shot was actually Cut, it’s on the deleted scenes. Draco touched Something, and I used this cane and went, ‘Don’t touch anything, Draco. But I didn’t know how sharp the teeth were, they went right into little Tom’s hands,” he said.
While filming a scene in Pretty Woman, Richard Gere broke one of his teeth. It happened in the scene where Edward throws out Stuckey. Gere broke one of his molars but didn’t pause filming.

Andy Serkis damaged his back doing motion capture for Gollum in the LoTR trilogy, “When I was going back and forth a lot between the ‘Two Towers’ reshoots and doing motion capture, midway through my back started to give me a lot of problems. When he finally stands up towards the end of the last film, it was quite a relief to get to that moment.” he said.
Daniel Craig accidentally broke Dave Bautista’s during the shoots of Spectre. One of the punches that Craig threw landed on Bautista’s nose. “I heard this crack and I was like ‘Oh God no’ and ran away. I thought he was going to come after me, but he was so sweet,” said Craig
When he was filming The Lost City of Z, Tom Holland broke his nose. It was during a stunt attempt. He tried to do a stunt that he’d done for Spider-Man, but he was in the jungle and wearing boots – so everything went wrong. “So stood up, I had these stupid leather boots on, U tried to do a backflip, and just broke my face,” he said.
When George Clooney was filming the scene in Syriana where his character is tied to a chair and getting beaten up, he accidentally lost his balance and tripped over. Clooney ended cracked on his head and spent two weeks at the hospital. According to the medics, his head injury almost killed him.
While he was filming The Batman, Robert Pattinson twisted and broke his wrist. “I broke my wrist at the beginning of it all, doing a stunt, even before COVID. So the whole first section was trying to keep working out-looking like a penguin. I remember when that seemed like the worst thing that could go wrong,” he says.
JJ Abrams broke his back in an attempt to save Harrison Ford while filming The Force Awakens. When a door on the Millennium Falcon fell on Ford’s leg and broke his ankle, Abrams rushed to save him and lifted the door. However, he broke his back in the process.
For Bryan Cranston, filming Jane’s death scene in Breaking Bad was a very difficult task. When Krysten Ritter choked, Bryan apparently saw his real-life daughter in her face for a moment, and it terrified him. When the director yelled “cut,” Bryan couldn’t stop weeping
Harrison Ford terribly injured his shoulder on the Indiana Jones 5 shoot. Despite that, the studio kept shooting without him, and a Disney spokesperson said at the time in July 2021) that production would “continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated.”
While filming IT: Chapter Two, Isaiah Mustafa accidentally broke his hand. Filming the battle at Winterfell in GoT S8 took a toll on Maisie Williams. “But nothing can prepare you for how physically draining it is. You can’t get sick, and you have to look out for yourself because there’s so much to do that nobody else can do… there are moments you’re just broken as a human and just want to cry.”
