Even today, James Cameron’s Aliens is considered way ahead of its time. The movie pushed Sigourney Weaver into the realm of Hollywood action superstars, something that was dominated by male actors before she entered the scene. A list about Eighties’ greatest movies must have at least one Star Wars movie in it. That’s the unwritten rule. We could have included Return of the Jedi but The Empire Strikes back took precedence. It was the first Star Wars movie to be released that decade and paved the way for science fiction movies for the years to come.
Back To The Future
Back To The Future is the only movie franchise with two entries on this list. And with good reason. The first Back To The Future movie involved Marty McFly traveling back in time and ensuring his parents fall in love with him so that he isn’t erased out of existence.
